Compulsions
If you have OCD, then you certainly most probably have habits or rituals that you repeat. These things are called compulsions. People generally carry out these actions simply because they feel it may help them do away with their obsessive thoughts of worries. Thus, if you think you have germs on your body all of the time, you will clean your hands every five minutes. Some do that to get in control of their obsessive thoughts. However, even if you have OCD and obsessions, the behaviors you do to fix or solve these things is only going to give you momentary relief. Common compulsions include checking that the door is properly locked or that the smoke sensors are working to those who lie to count and organize the things in their closet according to everything from type to number to color. Often, a person's OCD will get so bad that they no more take part in some other activities and actually devote most of their time focusing on their rituals and their thoughts. This is why OCD can be so isolating and unhealthy.
